For the month of January, Mankato
artist Dana Sikkila will be creating a daily blog about her extreme
day to day lifestyle. Each entry will give a description of how
January can truly be the month of new beginnings. Sikkila highlights
how the start of the new year can be exciting surrounded by friends;
but then then reality of life sets in after the sun rises. Her blog
will give details of long nights in jail, while still working a full
time job and running an art gallery. How does an artist stay an
artist while having to juggle things shes willing to do with things
she's forced to do? Sikkila gives a humorous flavor to a few
depressing situations, but in the end, showcases how even when we've
reached our bottom, there's always a way out of it. Through
photographs, video, incarcerated illustrations, and emotional
entries, readers will follow along with Sikkila through her
cyberspace chronicles.
